Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ
This blog has been set up so I can write up some thoughts I am having and share them with you. It has emerged out of the Lockdown period we experienced in April 2020. Finding different ways to communicate with the Hilton Baptist church family became part of what I had to do as a pastor. This is one such way.
I don’t make a commitment of how often I will post articles, but plan to do so from time to time. The particular focus will be on how we can grow as Christians and reach out to those who are not yet Christians in the world we find ourselves in.
The following conversation between Gandalf the Grey and Frodo in the first of the Lord of the Ring books, the fellowship of the ring, has had a deep impression on me. It has relevance to us all.
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
May we all make good choices of what we to do with the time and God has given us in the times he placed us in.
